In this world so cold and deceiving
Hope is hard to obtain,
Shattered dreams and troubles untold Fill my soul with pain

My faith was lost, my resistance low
the world was pulling me down
but when you walked into my life
you lifted me off the ground

You proved to me there still exists
People with hearts of gold
Someone to talk to, someone to trust
A friend when life gets too cold

Sunshine in the darkest night
That's what you mean to me
I'll never misuse or abuse your trust
I swear to the powers that be

I apologise with all my heart
If ever I do you wrong
I'll never intend to hurt you
Only our friendship to be strong

Neither of us knows what the future holds
For you and I it's true
But whatever we face, whatever must be
I wish to stay friends with you.
